A magnificent deluxe hotel built on a picturesque headland, ideal for those seeking both beauty and tranquility. The hotel offers superb walking routes through its landscaped gardens, with excellent views of the town of Aghios Nikolaos and the bay of Mirabello.
The lively resort of Aghios Nikolaos is a short walking (30 min.) distance of 1.8 km or a swift drive along the coast road from the hotel. The resort takes its name from the small 9th century chapel of Aghios Nikolaos, the oldest church on the island, which boasts original wall paintings and stands in the hotel's grounds. The Minos Palace is small, quiet, picturesque and offers unobtrusive service.
Facilities
“Bacchus” piano bar and “Amalthea” main restaurant are surrounded by large balconies overlooking the Kri-Kri island and the town of Aghios Nikolaos. The “Asterias” taverna on the beach for lunch al fresco, “Kirki” beach bar for refreshments and snacks. A large seawater swimming pool with bar service, children’s paddling pool and children’s outdoor playground. A TV room and a large furnished lounge, a kiosk including newsagent and gifts, jewelers shop, hair dressing salon, games room, gym room and sauna room. The conference room is able to accommodate up to 100 people and fully equipped with the state of the art equipment.
Service
Fully stocked mini bar with premium brands, room service, early dinner on request, special vegetarian and diabetic meals, baby cots and high chairs free of charge, baby-sitting service on request. Laundry-dry cleaning service, currency exchange, car rental, excursion bookings, in-house doctor. Free sun beds, umbrellas and towels for the pool and beach use complimentary, free parking.
Meals
Breakfast: Served daily in the “Amalthea” main restaurant, a select American buffet with a wide choice of fresh dishes.
Lunch: Lunch is served al fresco in “Asterias” Taverna choose from an extensive a la carte menu of Greek specialties and international dishes.
Dinner: Dinner is served in the “Amalthea” main restaurant. Special dinners such as anniversary, birthday, a la carte, vegetarian or diabetic are available upon request.
Dress code in restaurant:
The Minos Palace offers a very relaxed atmosphere, but we do like to keep a certain standard for dinner. A suit and tie is certainly not compulsory, but we do ask our guests not to wear sport or swim wear clothing.
Entertainment
Pianist at “Bacchus” main bar (May to September). A weekly special Events Night at “Asterias” taverna with entertainment music and dance show (supplement charge).
Games Room
The hotel’s games room is free of charge and offers table-tennis, billards, board games i.e. chess, backgammon, scrabble and playing cards.
Sports
In addition to the gym room and sauna room the hotel has two tennis courts (hard) with lessons from our experienced coach. A variety of sea sports and activities are available for hire at the water sports centre on the hotel’s beach including wind-surfing, water ski, canoes, pedalos, sailing, snorkeling, parascending, jet-ski and PADI scuba diving courses with fully qualified instructors.

Children's paddling pool, playground (parents to supervise), hair chairs, babysitting on request, free baby cots.
